EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE (EYFS)

Welcome to EYFS!

The Early Years curriculum provides pupils with first hand experiences, and child centred learning that encourages resilience, confidence and independence. Learning within EYFS is personalised to meet the needs of each individual pupil and all experiences are carefully planned to be meaningful, purposeful and highly differentiated to ensure best possible outcomes for all. Through our carefully designed curriculum, pupils are given the opportunity to learn through play, foster their creativity and become immersed in a multi-sensory learning environment.

We follow the statutory framework for EYFS which includes: literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, expressive arts and design plus three ‘prime’ areas of learning:

  • Communication and Language (listening and attention; understanding and speaking)
  • Physical Development (moving and handling; health and self-care)
  • Personal, Social and Emotional (self-confidence and self-awareness, managing feelings and behaviour; making relationships)

For further information on the Intent, Implementation and Impact of our EYFS Curriculum please refer to our EYFS Curriculum document or contact one of the team (see below)
