Outreach Support

As an outstanding academy for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Difficulties (SEND) we are able to offer free specialist outreach support to our mainstream colleagues in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Primary and Secondary settings, through the Coaching for Inclusion Partnership. Our support promotes a fully inclusive approach to teaching and learning in order to improve the outcomes for pupils with SEND.

Objectives:

  • To promote positive attitudes to inclusion
  • To celebrate and share good practice
  • To work collaboratively to develop teacher confidence

Referrals to our outreach service can be made directly through the academy by parents, teachers and other professionals by completing the pupil referral, and parent request forms. Further information can also be found in our Outreach Brochure.

Training

We are also able to offer bespoke whole school training packages to schools and academies. Our highly qualified and experienced staff can offer training in a wide range of topics including the following:

  • Autism Awareness
  • Sensory Integration
  • Positive Behaviour Management
  • Effective Deployment of Teaching Assistants
  • SEND Strategies in the Classroom

National Support School - School to School Support

The Russett School is proud to be a designated National Support School, which forms part of the Coaching for Inclusion Partnership. As a National Support School (NSS) we have a long and successful track record of supporting other schools and academies, many of whom have found themselves in challenging circumstances. We work to ensure genuine inclusion for all pupils, so they can achieve their full potential.
