Welcome to Room 9

I asked the pupils what they wanted everyone to know about room 9. They said:
- “We’re the best class in the school”
- “We’re strong”
- “We’re the best team”
- “We’re all clever”
- “I like being in room 9”
Our brilliant staff team are: Maria (Monday- Wednesday) Amy (Wednesday-Fri), Jacqui (Monday – Thursday) and Karen (Monday – Friday).
This term our Countryside learners will be supported with their English skills with the use of symbols to support their writing and will continue to practise their fine motor skills with daily writing tasks. As well as differentiated maths activities using hands on approaches we will continue to cement their understanding of number bonds to 10 and recognising different coins.
Pupils accessing our City pathways will be continuing to practise their writing and improve their grammar, particularly using capital letters and full stops. On top of following the maths planning they will be focussing on functional maths skills including telling the time and using money.
All the pupils will be joining in with theme days such as Art Day and World Earth Day with differentiated activities to support their learning.
Reading in Room 9
Our text this term is George’s Marvelous Medicine . The pupils will be using it to practise their sentence writing, use adjectives and their drama skills.
The pupils read to staff daily and practise their phonics skills daily. Library books are changed at least once per week.
In addition we have sessions planned for:
- Forest Schools on a Thursday (alternate weeks)
- Visits to The Hub, Weaverham
- Yoga on Thursday
- Class café every Friday to practice our money skills.
- PE on a Monday.
Please see our class timetable for more information.
In Room 9 we capture evidence of our learning through Evisense. Please check your child’s page to see what we have been doing.
