Welcome to Room 7
Welcome to Room 7 we are a fantastic class of 11 comprising of 3 key stage 2 pupils and 8 key stage 3 pupils.
Our brilliant class team are:
Heather (Class Teacher Mon- Thurs) and Maria (Friday). Alex, Steph and Brandon are full time teaching assistants who support the pupils in Room 7.
In Room 7 we love a multi-sensory learning environment. Our favourite activities this term are swimming and Forest School.
This term our Coastal Learners are looking forward to continuing to develop their communication skills allowing the pupils to express their wants and needs clearly to all, using their thinking and problem-solving skills in maths sessions, as well as focussing on their independent skills.
Our Countryside learners will be continuing to develop their verbal communication skills, as well as enjoying Floppy’s phonics sessions which supports their reading and writing skills.
We are continuing to develop our handwriting through the ‘Journey to Cursive’ handwriting scheme. We are also focussing on our thinking and problem-solving skills in maths, using our counting skills to add and subtract and beginning to explore multiplication and division through arrays. In Design Technology we will be creating our own model boat using various materials and pupils will be working scientifically to predict whether materials float or sink as well as evaluating if their models were successful.
Pupils accessing our City pathways will be continuing to develop their sentence building and writing skills, using Floppy’s phonics to segment and blend different sounds to develop their reading skills. We will also be exploring the four number operations including multiplication, division, addition and subtraction using various methods including the grid method and we will also be exploring money. We will be creating our own role play shop to be able to pay for items, For example, pupils should be able to identify the value of each coin and note and understand what these values represent.
